In India and in many parts of Asia Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years as a method of achieving spiritual enlightenment. Most forms of Meditation teach an individual how to consciously withdraw one’s awareness from the external world of the senses and to focus the attention inward in communication with one’s higher self.
